tapered boxed column

What's the best way to make a tapered boxed column on stone work? There is not much in the library for this type of column. thanks

I think you can find a incline surface in one of the primitive librariues:images and mate it to a soffit or other if you only need one or 2 surfaces inclined.

Explain the molding polyline to get the taper

Using moulding polylines to accomplish this is by far the fastest way. This is Chief's way of performing what in other CAD programs is usually referred to as an "extrusion". You use one polyline - in Chief, a moulding polyline - to represent the path along which you want to extrude another shape, represented in Chief by a CAD moulding profile.

First, draw the extrusion path by drawing a moulding polyline - in this case, a square in plan view which represents the width of the column at its thinnest point (in this case, the top).

Second, create the moulding profile. Because you need to draw moulding profiles in a clockwise direction, starting at the bottom left draw a CAD polyline straight up (this defines what will, in effect, be the "back" of the extrusion, which will not be visible), then draw a segment angled down to the right to match the degree of taper you want, and then complete the shape by drawing a line segment to the left to connect the taper side of the profile to the "back" side.

Save this profile as a CAD moulding.

Apply the moulding to the square moulding polyline.
