Sky light problem
Hello everybody, I hope you are all well. I have a small problem that I just can not get on top of it. The sky light in a room without ceiling is not certain if it has a ceiling or not. This is only happening in this plan. As you can see in the section below, there are three rooms joining next to a staircase. An upstairs wall is not going all the way to the upper floor level because of the raked ceiling. It did work before and suddenly I can not get rid of the skilight walls. Anybody had the problem before? Any suggestion is welcome. All the best to you all.

Try this - raise the ceiling height for that room to a level above the skylight. There might still be something wrong with this file, if you are getting this result at only one, so I might still send it in to tech support. But, raising the "ceiling" will let you move on with your work in the meantime.

Maybe, building a room around the skylight with invisible walls and raise the ceiling for that room ???

Hi Wendy, Lew and edcox, thank you for taking the time to reply to my problem. I tried all of your suggestions and nothing has changed the behaviour of the sky light in this room. I also noticed that I can place sky lights in the upper storey PL2 but not in the single storey, PL1 section of the house. The 'remove ceiling' in the room dbx does not work. I think Wendy you are right, there is something wrong with this plan file. Unfortunately I have to send the POV Ray to the client today. I will have to explain the computer problem.
Again thank you for your help and all the best to you.

Did you try checking the skylight option for manually framing the skylight well rather than letting Chief do it?

Hi Jason, that worked. I only had to delete the second, lower frame and there it is. Just enough time to do the Pov ray. Thanks a lot Jason and have a great day.

I thought I share the result of my (our) work to that 2nd floor addition and alteration to an old ranch style house.
It's just so wonderful to have this forum available. It touches me again and again to see the amount od support people give to each other.
Have a great day.

That looks great.Just when I think there is no need for all the detail in CA and see everyones work.
Looking forward to become half as good as what I see.
