I am still having this problem :(
when I try the "update library catalog" for X5
I get a message that there was one or more errors
doesn't say where, etc - so left in the dark :(
I have the following counts for X5:
CORE - 7,403
BONUS - 7,236
MANUF - 57,298
does anyone else have these counts ?
even if counts match the content may be outdated ???

OK, problem solved ....
just turn off firewall, do the updates
then turn on firewall again
with Norton 360 it will recognize Chief as "trusted" software
and in the future no need to turn off firewall
I have had to do this with some but not all of my software as I load up my new PC
It would be nice if Chief (and other software) would pop a warning that the firewall
is blocking instead of aborting or issuing error message or saying no internet connection
every software that had an issue - gave no indication that the firewall was blocking them :(

Thanks Lew, good info, and yes, a reason for the problem would be helpful.

Scott:
I always have Windows firewall off and just use Norton 360's firewall
I think the software that has issues were not "common" to Norton
turbotax and quicken etc had no issue

I now have X6 library catalogs loaded
the counts are the same as X5

I am the same as you Lew.
Had the same problem downloading the Catalog libraries. Took me a little while to figure it out but got there in the end. Then all went smoothly.
