Thank you,
It's a bit involved (maybe someone else knows an easier way). I learned this recently after having used Chief for 2+ years.
Preferences - Edit Behaviors - Edit Type - Concentric, set jump amount to your offset
Select object - select Multiple Copy tool - Grab circular handle on the object - drag in direction of desired offset
You may want to set the Edit Type back to its previous setting when you're through.
another way of doing it..... select object>CNTRL/V>hold down "C" key, for concentric, grab a corner and drag, as you drag hit tab key, this pulls up dbx that allows to to offset by an actual distance in both x & y direction.
great thank you. now along the same lines, how can i control how deep the hole in the solid? i would like to have a 6" hole in a 12" fountain well. right now the hole is going as deep as the solid.
Might have to use 2 solids, both 6" deep, one with a hole all the way through or - wait for smart people to answer.
You need to construct 2 separate solids, one for the outside and one for the inside and the do a solid subtraction of the inside sold from the outside solid.
Select the move handle start dragging.
Click Tab or Enter.
Type in how far in x or y or both that you want to move.
