Have you tried Ray Trace?
I generally like to create a generic color material and add some reflection to it. You can play with different levels to get the effect you like.

Hi Greg,
Yes, I already tried but doesn't look real, also in ray trace I put the colors as a predefine metal (bronze, copper, brass)and the color is completely different from the one I want it. those turn out to be what the metal originally is if is copper turn more like red if is brass turn out like brown/yellow but what if I want regular purple color with some metallic finish
Thank you for your help
Thank you Kirk, I used your settings but still doesn't give the metallic effect looks more like glass or something shiny, I'll keep trying with different settings or maybe some other light sources.
you could do a search for metal textures and see what you can find. OR look up metallic paints and copy
a texture from a site. Bring into chief and stretch to fit or resize as needed. Many ways to approach this.
