Wendy,
How do get your framing to build right?
All framing builds (the program) relative to 0,0 or a framing reference marker which takes it's place.
Time for a class Wendy!

He makes a statement and you are supposed to either figure it out yourself, or buy his training program. At least I think that is the motivation for being so vague. ;)
No Joe that's not the motivation at all. Joe have you ever noticed that I have more free stuff on my site than any other site on the web regarding Chief, and it explains things in great detail. I will happily pull the free stuff so you will have to buy the training program!
Actually, I've been working blissfully unaware of the need. The only problem I've ever had with my framing was the one I told you about - which was a weird left field bug that only I seem to have triggered.
I put my joist directions in. I put in any bearing lines. I put my beams in. I adjust beam heights for flush framed or whatever. I set my defaults, define the framing for my roofs, window groups for single hole... I put the fire in the hole and I get lovely framing. There's usually a bit of tweaking, but not a lot, and I'm good to go. Oh - I do usually end up doing a single tweak to my roof heights and rebuilding framing - to get my birdsmouth depth exactly what I want for all my weird steep roofs and such.
Good Idea I just haven't taken the time to develop layersets
Joe,
That's just Louis being Louis. He's part of the atmosphere.
Katy!
Did you know your husband's been in my closet - again.
Ron,
I only develop the ones for the layouts.
These Working ones are changed constantly on the fly. I open it, select all, turn all off, select the few that affect my current work, turn them on and/or lock and unlock as suits my needs, and off I go. The 10 seconds this takes more than pays for itself in speed editing. I fight snaps and things a lot less if there's less on screen.
Oh, I thought that was my robe!
Louis, stay out of Wendy's closet!
Katy
Hey Katy,
Did you know your husband's "in the closet" at all? And wearing flowers?
oh my goodness, I've hijacked my own thread, and I think it's veering towards an unfortunate rating.
Really Louis, I thought you could take a joke :DQuote:
