I am part way thru a plan in metric and want to also show imperial,i cant figure out how .when i go to defaults dimensions edit it only shows metric,
Go to the Secondary Format tab and check Include Secondary Format.
And don't forget that you can usually enter a dimension in either metric or imperial format, regardless of what format you're currently working in. If you're working in metric, you can place a cabinet and type 36" for its width, say, and it will convert to the metric equivalent automatically. Metric/Imperial interoperability is one of the things Chief does quite well.
Sorry but where is the secondary format tab
Chief has this nifty "Help" feature. Just press F1 and you can find out.
sorry but i looked all thru the help and cant figure it out. the problem is when i go to edit defaults dimensions there is no choice for imperial ,only metric, which i started drawing the plan with.when i go to new plan edit defaults dimensions i can choose either.
In "secondary" dim. tab check include second format.
Thank you for your help. i am back at this and still having the same problem. My "Dimension Line Specification" window only has four tabs: Dimension, Extension, Layer, and Arrow. It does not have the three additional tabs that appear in the screen shot you sent me. I have Chief Architect X1 11.5.3.25.
In the nifty help feature I searched Secondary Format and it returns nothing and i searched Dimension line specification and it shows instruction on the dialog box that I get not the one in the screenshot you sent.
Any ideas?

I don't think there is any easy way to do what you want in X1. You might want to consider upgrading.Quote:
I'm sorry, Doctor, I have no time to explain this logically.

The secondary format was introduced in X2
