New computer x6 install
I apologize if this has been covered before but it really confuses me with the single license procedure.
Just bought a new laptop...a clean slate. Can I just install the x6 upgrade or do I need to install x5 first??
Any issues with installing x5 again on a new machine with old machine still having the software??
I've been a user since version 10 and have just upgraded along each time a new release comes along.
If I have it correct, I need to deactivate x15 on the old, install both x5 and x6 on the new???
Thanks very much

Since you get a new key code for x6 than x5 I'd think you can just install x6 but have not attempted it.

Pretty sure you can just install X6 on your laptop. When I started with the X6 beta I got a new licence for the upgrade that covers X6.
It may be more complicated if you plan to keep X5 on your old one and somehow switch between but I assume that's not what you mean (as that wouldn't really make sense with X5 not being able to read X6 files).

the versions are totally independent and you can have any combination installed as desired
and in any order
if you have X5 installed first then X6 gives the option to migrate the X5 libraries, including the user library to X6
so I took the time to ensure my X5 libs were completely up to date
then installed X6 and then did the MENU - LIBRARY - UPDATE CATALOGS
to bring X6 up to date for any libs that were new to X6
NOTE: If you are missing any Bonus or Manuf libs in X5 they will still be missing in X6
the UPDATE CATALOGS only updates catalogs that exist in your library browser
