metric layout.
I have a plan from a client that is done in Metric....no problems there.
What I am having trouble with is making the layout template that I have for that client recieve the metric plan file....
I have a layout in imperical for this client, and of course I can't send the plan to it becuase the plan is metric....
Can I convert the layout to metric...saveas a new layout or something?
This is V10.
I need a 24x36 layout...

Chris:
I don't think so...
There were prior threads about this.
Start a new metric plan and then used copy/paste or edit area and copy from the imperial plan template to the new metric plan and then save as a metric template.
Just guessing here :)

I think that's what I am trying, using the copy/paste function...
But, it seems that the layout in CAD format is reduced on a metric page...I don't know why?

Chris,
The sizing factor (2.5) is a problem that was not resolved untill X1.3 or later.
It is basically a problem where all cad items (even library cad blocks and details) insert into a plan too small. Not even sure whether you can use a metric plan in an imperial layout.
It may be worth trying to put the plan into an X1 layout.
The quickest way will probably be to create a metric layout template from scratch. You know what you want to have in it. Re-creating should not take long.
Cheers

Well, I just took the imperial layout and made a CAD block of it in my library.
Then, I opened a metric layout template. I deleted all of the lines in the template and saved as a layout for the client. I then made sure the paper size was correct (914.4018mmx609.6012mm) for 36x24 paper....
Then, inserted the CAD block of the layout and resized is 2.54 times larger..and that worked out nicely...
my metric plan sent to layout easily....
